We wanted to share the results of our annual election and vote on initiatives from our last workshop of the school year last night. Our Board for the 2018/2019 school year will be as follows:

Co-Presidents: Jennifer Hiscoe and Jennifer O'Duggan
Co-Vice Presidents: Sara Mulcahy and Erin Poirier
Co-Secretaries: Laurie Wrobleski and Victoria Strand
Co-Treasurers: Sharon Taylor and Holly Perkins

Welcome to our new board members Erin and Victoria- we are excited to have you as part of the team!

Those in attendance also voted in favor of a couple of new initiatives. Two $1000 scholarships for Franklin High students were approved for next year. We were thrilled to award a scholarship to a deserving student this year and are excited to be adding a second scholarship for the upcoming school year. We will also be resupplying local first responders with sensory and comfort items to have on hand for children in crisis situations. Thank you again to all those who contributed and/or attended our fundraiser as you make these programs possible!

We are also starting to plan our workshops/speakers for next year so email us at with our ideas. Please let us know what you would like to learn about or who you would like to see here in Franklin.

Thank you for making our 2018 fundraiser such a success!  We are grateful to all who attended and donated. We couldn’t do any of this without your support!

what can be done to help these families find a cure.

Going forward, we would love to expand the board to include Representatives from each of the school buildings in town.  We feel that this is a great way for SEPAC to learn more about successes and issues taking place in each building.  If this is something that you would be interested in, please let us know...the time commitment is minimal.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with the planning of social events and fundraising.  This is a great way to help out without taking on a Board position.

About Us:

The mission of the Franklin Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is to promote a network for parents of children with disabilities and provide a forum to share information and discuss matters of relative interest and concern regarding our children. This group provides regular forums for Pupil Personnel Services and parents to share information and discuss pertinent issues; develops, maintains and shares tools and a resource guide; and raises awareness of children with special needs.

We host monthly workshops educating parents on special-needs topics. We run monthly parent support groups and periodic events for children. Franklin SEPAC also contributes an annual donation to Franklin's Special Education programs. We are a 501(c)(3)  volunteer-run organization and rely on donations to help alleviate the costs of the above-mentioned programs.

Your participation will provide a unique opportunity to meet school officials and other parents, stay informed on policy and legislative changes, ask questions and discuss concerns, and learn something new. Your input into potential speaker topics, and other SEPAC initiatives of particular interest is also welcomed.

We are a member of the Massachusetts Association of Special Education Parent Advisory Council
